ABERYSTWYTH University Golf Society have celebrated their maiden win back in the BUCS Universities golf league, after a lengthy period of absence.

After an impressive win against Bangor University in their annual varsity match this summer, the team were drawn away in their opening fixture of the season away to Hartpury University.

The match, played at Cleeve Hill Golf Course in Gloucestershire, ended in another victory for Aberystwyth winning 4.5points to 1.5 points with some stunning golf on display.

The team will now go on to play the likes of Exeter, Cardiff Metropolitan and Swansea Universities this season as they seek to continue their impressive form.

They will be playing their home fixtures at Borth & Ynyslas Golf Club.
