IOAN Lloyd and Sion Williams were among the stars of the event when they finished second in the Rally4 class on Rali Ceredigion (September 4-6) in a factory Vauxhall Corsa Rally4.

Lloyd, 23-years old from Llandysul, and his co-driver Williams from Blaenau Ffestiniog are competing in the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup in their Vauxhall UK Mokka GSE Rally this season but returned to a Rally4 car for the biggest UK rally of 2026.

Aberystwyth-based Rali Ceredigion was a round of the FIA European Rally Championship, including the Junior European Rally Championship, and Lloyd was keen to take on some of the fastest rally drivers in Europe alongside his ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup campaign.

The event, which is Lloyd’s home rally, delivered another huge challenge with daunting special stages in the mountains and valleys around the host town. The fans came out in their thousands to see the biggest UK rally of the year.

With a faultless performance, Lloyd and Williams finished second in Rally4, less than 14 seconds behind class winner Timo Schulz from Germany. He was also the second Welsh driver in the final results behind British Rally Championship contender Meirion Evans in his Rally2 car.

Lloyd said: “Fantastic! The stuff our dreams are made of. Last year's Croatia Rally is the last time we were in a Rally4 car. So to be here on the second step of the podium among such good competition is a moment we're really proud of.

“We had a baptism of fire on Friday night going straight into the dark and that was very tough. They were two very different stages, but both very challenging. So I was really happy that we started off with the fastest time in stage three. Then we had another two fastest times to finish off Sunday. I'm really happy. It's probably the best I've driven on tarmac.

“We had no car problems and the team was just flawless. They ran the car perfectly. It's a privilege to be a part of it all and I just want to say a massive thank you to Vauxhall for making this possible. It's a huge opportunity and I just I can't believe I'm here on the podium.

“This weekend has been a good reminder of why we are working so hard to get back into the Junior ERC next year. I'd love to be here for the whole season and hopefully we can target that and be here next year.”
