CONDITIONS were perfect for Aberdyfi's Coastal Sculling Regatta held on the Dyfi estuary on Saturday, 8 August, writes Doris O’Keefe.

A.R.C's sculling captain, Neil Bullman, said: "Aberdyfi Rowing Club welcomed 40 rowers from five different clubs to the inaugural Aberdyfi Sculling Regatta.

“The weather was perfect, with constant sunshine and low winds.

“A total of eight races were held around the 4km course, with singles, doubles and quads taking part.

“Sculling teams were from Porthmadog, Fishguard, Clevedon, Moelfre and the host club Aberdyfi.

“A wide range of ages from U19s to over 60s took part in the racing, which was competitive and fun.

“The fastest time around the course was that of Aberdyfi's Tim Chesworth and Jake Metcalfe in the double scull at 18 minutes and 26 seconds.

“Many thanks to all who participated in this great event. We hope to see you all again next year at the Aberdyfi Sculling Regatta."
