RUSSELL Bentley was the winner of the popular Henri Lloyd Abersoch 10K race in a massive field of almost 700.

Bentley, from Beddgelert, won in a time of 33:44, from Eryri teammates Alun Vaughan, taking second in 34:46 and Brendan Rothery third in 35:02.

Tim Davies finished fourth in 35:09, from Steffan Sayer fifth in 35:17 and Paul Green, the first M40, sixth overall in 35:39.

The top 10 was completed by Meirionydd Running Club’s Tom Roberts seventh in 36:08, Andy Payne, second M40, eighth in 36:30, Thomas Harrison ninth in 36:47, and Jane Evans first female, 10th in 38:08.

The first M50 runner home was Andrew Yapp in 39:06, from Steve Taylor second in 41:24 and Simon Shaw third in 43:17.

The top 10 women were Jane Evans, first in 38:08, Rhian Roxburgh, first F40 runner, second female in 41:22l, Charlotte Finch, second F40, third in 42:26; Diane Bygrave, third F40, fourth in 44:32, Gina Senior F40 fifth in 45:48, Sian Beck sixth in 47:17, Mared Gwyn seventh in 47:48, Rachel Hudson F40 eighth in 48:17, Vix Ball ninth 49:14; Eleri Wright 10th 48:13.

The first F50 runner was Paula Speechley in 53:00, from Alison Blackshaw second 55:10 and Sian Roberts third 55:03.

The shorter distance Abersoch Holiday Homes 3K also took place and saw runners start and finish on the village’s beach, and Samuel Roberts won in 10:46.

A trio of U14s runners followed with Ethan Warren winning his age group, second overall in 11:26, from William Wright second in 11:51 and Ethan Davies 12:15.

In the senior men’s category Matthew Williams followed in 13:02, Benjamin Lovell in 13:02 and Pete Brodey 13:25. Julian Husbands was the fastest M40 runner in 18:52, from Paul Capper second in 19:36 and Jonny Wrigley third in 20:34

Abagael Walmsley was the first female in 13:35, from Millie Thompson second in 16:20 and Taylor O’Neil third in 16:20. Rebecca Tilling was the first F40 runner in 21:05, from Joanne O’Mullane-Williams in 22:05 and Sarah Kendall third in 22:00.

The U8s boys race was won by Henry Bates in 15:08, from Ewan Leonard second in 15:33 and Ed Arnold third in 16:28. Henry Walmsley won the U11s boys’ race in 14:25, from Max Murray second in 14:45 and Jack Bates taking third in 14:46.

The U8s girls race was won by Ela Fon Jones in15:31, from Ava Bygrave second in 16:06 and Sophie Hughes third 18:49. The U11s girls’ race was won by Matilda Byrnes in 14:29, from Anabelle Bygrave in 14:50 and Maisie Trueman third in 15:15. Tally Nicole won the U14s girls’ race in a time of 13:24, from Milly Lever second in 13:53 and Elinor Mills third in 15:36.
