AROUND 60 volunteers have been praised after helping clear Llanilar of rubbish.

The community council arranged for the clean-up and among the volunteers were Ysgol Gynradd Llanilar pupils and the Llanilar Brownies.

Cllr Ada Evans, chairman of Llanilar Community Council, thanked everyone who came along to help and said the large number of rubbish bags they collected indicates the success of the venture.

Cllr Evans hopes that their efforts will encourage people to take pride in their community and to get rid of their rubbish in a responsible way in future.
