A PENCADER man has been banned from the road for more than three years after appearing in court to admit driving while more than three times the legal drink drive limit.

William Green, of Castle Green, Castle Road, appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on 1 December.

The court heard that the 30-year-old was stopped by police while behind the wheel of a Ford Focus on Green Road in Pencader on Sunday, 14 November.

Breath tests showed that Green had 118 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit is 35mcgs.

Green was disqualified from driving by magistrates for 40 months.

He was also made the subject of a 12 month community order to include 180 hours of unpaid work, and must pay £85 costs and a £95 surcharge.
