An arrest has been made and an investigation launched following a suspected arson attack at a Tywyn holiday park.

Emergency services rushed to the Pall Mall caravan park in the early hours of Thursday, 6 June, to tackle a caravan blaze on the site.

Fire crews from Dolgellau and Aberdyfi reached the fire at 2.25am and swiftly extinguished the blaze.

Investigators say the fire was deliberately started and informed the police, who have since arrested someone in relation to the incident.

A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from Aberdyfi and Dolgellau arrived at the scene at around 2.25am, and established that the blaze had been deliberately executed.

“The fire left the caravan with 100 per cent fire damage, with 20 per cent damage inflicted upon a neighbouring van.”

No-one was injured as a result of the fire.

North Wales Police said: “We were called to an incident of suspected arson in the Tywyn area at 2.43am this morning. One person was arrested and enquiries are ongoing.”
