A BLAENAU Ffestiniog man is thought to have died in a car fire at Cwm Penmacho on Sunday.

North Wales Police and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called at 7.34pm to a report of a vehicle fire in a field in a remote and rural location.

Now, after forensic examination confirmed the presence of a person inside the vehicle, they say believe him to have been 70-year-old Michael James Green.

Detective Chief Inspector Sion Williams had earlier said police were keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a light blue Renault Scenic being driven around the area between 4.30pm and 7.30pm on Sunday.
