Barmouth RNLI was delighted to welcome 1st Monkmoor Cubs to the boathouse on Sunday, 4 August, and show them around the all-weather lifeboat Ella Larsen and inshore lifeboat Craig Steadman.

The Cubs had been busy completing a sponsored walk over the bridges in Shrewsbury in aid of Barmouth RNLI, raising £620.50 for the station and its crew of volunteers.

The donation was gratefully received and coxswain mechanic Rob Williams thanked the Cubs for their efforts as he showed them around the boathouse.

He said: “This is a tremendous amount of money raised and we are incredibly grateful that 1st Monkmoor Cubs chose us as their charity.

“The Cub Scout motto is ‘be prepared’ and this fantastic donation will allow the volunteer crew in Barmouth to continue training and be prepared to save lives at sea.”
