The two women who died in a crash on Wednesday were a mother and daughter from Porthmadog, police have revealed.
Anwen Mitchelmore, 59, and her 84-year-old mother Nancy Roberts died following a collision involving a car and a lorry on the A487 near Gardolbenmaen on Wednesday afternoon.
They were from the Porthmadog area.
The collision involved a red Volkswagen Polo and a rigid flatbed yellow lorry, and occurred on the A487 between Garndolbenmaen and Penmorfa, police said.
Sgt Emlyn Hughes of the North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit is appealing for witnesses to the crash, which happened at around 3.30pm.
He said: “Our heartfelt condolences remain with the families of both ladies who were tragically killed. They are now being supported by a specially-trained family liaison officer.
“I would like to thank everyone who has contacted us so far with dashcam footage, however I continue to appeal to anybody who may have been travelling in the area at the time of the collision, and who is yet to make contact, to do so as soon as possible.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and anybody with information is urged to contact us quoting incident number Y100773."
