POLICE patrols have been stepped up at an Aberystwyth industrial estate after a spate of burglaries.

Several units and storage containers in Glanyrafon Industrial Estate in Llanbadarn were broken into in the first week of September, with items stolen.

The break-ins occurred overnight in the small hours, when businesses were closed.

The specifics of each break-in have not yet been made available by police.

Dyfed-Powys Police said the neighbourhood policing team, along with the joint investigation unit, is looking into the reports and patrols have been increased in the area, particularly overnight.

Police said that officers have visited businesses in the industrial estate to offer security advice in the wake of the incidents.

Aberystwyth PCSO David Goffin was joined by Dyfed-Powys Police Chief Constable Mark Collins on patrol last week in the area.

Anyone with any information about the incidents is asked to contact Aberystwyth police on 101.
