A PORTHMADOG restaurant has donated £1,000 to Criccieth RNLI.

The Banc restaurant donated to the charity as they are a “great team of local volunteers”.

Members of Criccieth RNLI received a cheque outside the restaurant earlier this month.

Jason Roberts, the Banc restaurant’s head chef said: “All the team at the Banc are really proud to support our local community, especially by supporting those charities who are staffed by volunteers like the RNLI.

“We chose RNLI Criccieth - Bad Achub Cricieth because they are a great team of local volunteers who are prepared to go out in all weathers to save the lives of others in trouble at sea.

“It was fantastic that the RNLI team could stop off at the Banc on their way to their exercise launch from Porthmadog harbour to collect their cheque.

“The Banc intends to continue to support our local community as much as possible in the future.”

A spokesperson for Criccieth RNLI said: “On Thursday evening (9 September), prior to an exercise launch from Porthmadog harbour, the crew of our inshore rescue boat stopped-off at Y Banc restaurant to be presented with a cheque for £1,000.

“It’s thanks to the generous support of local businesses such as Y Banc and from members of the public that our lifeboat station is able to continue with the work of saving lives at sea.”
