POLICE have now confirmed that they are treating the death of a 51-year-old woman at Machynlleth as murder.
The murder inquiry has been launched following the discovery of two bodies at an isolated property near Machynlleth.
Police were called to the property after reports of the sudden death of a 51-year-old woman. During a search of the grounds, the body of a 45-year-old man was also discovered.
Police have said that they are treating the woman’s death as murder and are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
Detective Superintendent Steve Cockwell said: "Dyfed-Powys Police are continuing to investigate the deaths of two people at a property on the outskirts of Machynlleth.
"We are now treating the death of a 51-year-old female as murder, but at this time are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death. The post mortem of a 45-year-old male is scheduled for Tuesday. We are still working to trace both individuals’ next of kin.”
Officers were called to the property at approximately 3.50pm on Sunday, 10 April.
