Madam,
In response to the anonymous letter (last week’s Cambrian News, ‘Compassion should be shown to people in need of homes’), regarding the proposed social housing development on the former health centre site in Tywyn, may I respectfully point out that the objectors are not against social housing on this site, but the actual planned development.
Would the letter-writer like a bin store just feet from his/her lounge window?
Would he or she like their dormer bungalow overlooked by a three-story building or access to houses that comes off a narrow road with a blind bend?
There is insufficient parking provided for the flats and little recreation area.
I could go on.
It is obvious that a total redesign is called for.
Social housing in keeping with the neighbourhood would be most welcome.
As a matter of information the housing company had bought the site before the health centre moved to the hospital.
Thus if the property has been allowed to become an eyesore then it is the housing company’s fault!
Yours etc,
R F Whitehouse, Talyllyn Drive, Tywyn.
