What a gross idea to run a zip wire from the top of Constitution Hill across the bay to the pier!

In promoting such an idea Advancing Aberystwyth clearly has little respect for the character and attractiveness of the promenade and seafront.

Such overhead activity would also greatly intrude on the enjoyment of those below in numerous ways, and cheapen the whole atmosphere of that area.Aberystwyth is not Magaluf.

A zip wire elsewhere in this area would undoubtedly be a positive attraction, and great fun for many. Just inland from Aberystwyth is a whole wealth of rocky hills and deep forested river valleys - ideal for a thrilling zip wire experience and relatively unobtrusive. I’d have a go myself.

Time to put the current proposal back in the cardboard box it came from and shut the lid.

“Advancing” Aberystwyth? I don’t think so.
