On Saturday, 14 November, the first team are away to Tywyn Bryncrug with kick-off at 2.15pm. The match sponsor is Norris Carpets.
Aeron Valley Railway Society
The Society held its AGM at the Feathers Hotel on Wednesday, 21 October, with around 25 members able to attend.
The current committee was reinstated en bloc by popular vote. Treasurer Brian Duke stated that the club was in good financial state in spite of investing a considerable amount for an exhibition marquee.
The August exhibition was a success and was attended by more people than in previous years.
Exhibition manager Martyn Cook also stated that it was also financially successful.
Social secretary Steve Parr indicated that many of the new year meetings were already catered for with speakers booked, as well as outside events planned in the pipeline.
The next meeting is on 18 November at 7.30pm in the Feathers Hotel.
WI
The branch had its AGM on 4 November in the presence of Ceredigion WI advisor Jo Davies.
President Eleanor Evans welcomed all members and guests before dealing with business and correspondence.
Minutes secretary Linda Badham noted a very busy and momentous year with celebrating the federation’s 100th year and Aberaeron’s 90th year.
Members also listened with pride at the annual reports presented by treasurer Jackie Thomas and president Eleanor Evans.
Jo Davies announced that Eleanor Evans and been re-elected as president for the coming year before inspiring members with her address.
Linda Hughes won the raffle and the committee provided the refreshments.
Next month’s meeting will be held at 2pm at the British Legion on Wednesday, 9 December.
Give Blood
The Welsh Blood Service will be visiting the Memorial Hall on Friday, 27 November, from 11am to 7pm. Donors both new and returning are encouraged to attend.

Cymdeithas Aberaeron Society
Local boy Henry ‘Buns’ Jones will be the next speaker in the series of winter talks at Tabernacl vestry.
Born and brought up in Brynolwen, Aberaeron, Henry gained the nickname Buns when his father ran the village bakery in Aberarth.
He was educated at Aberaeron primary and county schools, then after national service and various jobs in the ‘university of life’ he studied English at Swansea University where he also did teacher training.
He went on to teach in St Davids and Tregaron.
Henry will speak in Welsh, with simultaneous translation, on the subject ‘Siopau rwy’n cofio’ (Shops I remember), a potted history of the shops and the characters who ran them, from his boyhood onwards.
All are welcome at Tabernacl vestry on Tuesday, 17 November, at 7.30pm to hear what will no doubt be an interesting and humorous insight into our past.
