A FESTIVAL organised by an Aberystwyth-based theatre company has been nominated for another award.

Arad Goch’s Far Old Line festival, which took place last year, has already picked up a Wales Theatre Award for Best Design, as well as a nomination for Best Ensemble.

Now the festival is up for an Arts and Business Cymru award, in the Arts and Small Business category, in collaboration with Advancing Aberystwyth.

Arad Goch artistic director Jeremy Turner said the nomination was great for the arts in mid Wales.

“Being on the shortlist for these awards will highlight Cwmni theatre Arad Goch, Advancing Aberystwyth and Aberystwyth and Ceredigion in general,” he said.

“It’s great that the work of an arts organisation and businesses in mid Wales are being recognised.

“We are proud of Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch’s track record of working in partnership with a wide range of organisations and companies and we’re grateful to Advancing Aberystwyth for its support of the Far Old Line festival.

“I hope that this partnership will continue.”

In addition to the funding from Advancing Aberystwyth, support for the Far Old Line was also given by Cynnal y Cardi, Ceredigion County Council, Aberystwyth Town Council, Ras yr Iaith, MW Scaffolding Ltd, Rewired Music and the Arts Council.

The winners of the awards will be announced at the Wales Millennium Centre on Friday, 25 May.
