Madam,

With reference to last week's letters, E Heneghan says that the best solution to the road system in Lampeter would be to ban parking in College Street (Cheaper solution would be to ban parking on College Street). As a shop owner I know that many customers use the opportunity to be able to park opposite, within close distance of the shops here in College Street.

The next nearest alternative would be to use the car park situated behind High Street, but I am most concerned that forcing this option would have an impact on our passing trade.

The Highways Department, in their wisdom, intend to put bollards along College Street. Delivery vehicles will now be forced to stop in the road to offload and collect, thus causing obstructions especially for large lorries and buses.

If there is a ban on parking in College Street, many traders (including myself) will lose out on a lot of business, and many independent shops could be forced to close.

Yours etc,
