Renovation

THE ST John’s Hall Gallery has closed until the spring during which renovations will be carried out on the building to make it more suitable for its current use. The fabric of the building needs a number of repairs that could not be done while the building is in use. The upgraded centre will reopen to satisfy the growing need for both exhibition and art-themed meeting spaces. For example, an exhibition of the photographic work of Helen Isles is planned.

New carol

LOCAL writer, broadcaster, photographer, minister and teacher Aled Lewis Evans has written a new carol that is to be performed to music composed by Tecwyn Ifan. It was broadcast for the first time on BBC Radio Cymru at 9am today (Wednesday) on Rhaglen Dylan. This will be his third item as BBC Radio Cymru Bardd y Mis (Poet of the Month). It may be available online to listen to at a later date.
