An emotional and “eye-opening” photography collection, giving an insight into a hospital’s battle against Covid-19, is being displayed in the windows of a Machynlleth gallery and bookstore.

The photographer behind the collection is Glenn Dene, an operating department practitioner at Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny.

Glenn used his skills as a photographer, and his exclusive access to the frontline, to capture emotional scenes from the daily battle.

“I decided to document the pandemic in the hospital because it’s a challenge the NHS has never faced before and hopefully never will again,” Glenn told the Cambrian News.

“My gut told me that it had to be documented visually and that’s when I started talking to the trust’s communication team and they were very understanding and supportive.

“Luckily, I’ve managed to achieve a body of work that no other photographer has."
