Madam,
Having managed to reach a reasonable age on a virtually pizza-free diet, I was some what bemused by the rather triumphant tone of your recent front-page headline concerning the arrival of Pizza Express in Aberystwyth (Popular pizza chain is heading to Aber).
However, after further reading, it seems that the developers of the new “leisure quarter” have clearly done their research and discovered that potential visitors could make destination choices based on the availability or otherwise of pizza.
Presumably the previously pizza-starved residents of Aberystwyth will be excited by the news about Pizza Express, as will the much-maligned gull population.
In order to maximise the impact of this news maybe Visit Wales could create a large shiny Pizza Express sign and park it at various locations around the country?
Clearly the town is now well on the way to becoming a holiday destination fit for the 20th century. The only thing holding it back is possibly the pier which does resemble a small shanty town balanced on scrap metal.
Yours etc,
D Woodbury, Talybont.
