THE MEETING was opened with Betty welcoming the Ysgol Penglais Brass Band and their teacher, Mrs Davies. The children, some of whom had only started at Penglais this year, played a selection of numbers from Blues to Sosban Fach and members not only enjoyed their playing, but were also impressed with the ability shown by the youngsters. Betty thanked the band and Mrs Davies and the group looks forward to their return next year.The meeting continued with arrangements being discussed for the Christ-mas shopping trip to Telford at the end of the month and the stall at the charities fair on Saturday, 5 December, in Borth Hall from 10am. Members are looking forward to the Christmas lunch at Llety Parc on 10 December and a visit to the pantomime for Beauty and the Beast in January. Betty reported that a recent lunch at Boulders attended by a group of members had raised £73 for the RNLI.Borth Senior Citizens have been fortunate to once again receive a very generous donation from Borth Carnival Committee and the group will put this towards funding their outings and activities in 2016.Members were reminded of Ysgol Craig yr Wylfa’s rehearsal in Borth Hall on 9 December and the Ceredigion Schools Concert in the Great Hall at the university on Monday, 14 December.The afternoon ended as usual with tea and biscuits. The next meeting in the hall will be the Christmas tea on 3 December.
