A LLANON dad has spoken of his disgust at the amount of dog mess he says is littering a well-used footpath in the village.
Angry Andy Wright decided to speak out after his seven-year-old son Dominik came home “plastered” in poo.
“My little boy came home from a bike ride with it all up his leg and all over his bike,” the 46-year-old bus driver told the Cambrian News.
“The footpath leading down to the beach is absolutely covered in it – the situation is getting absolutely ridiculous.
“The problem is definitely getting worse and it’s not holidaymakers who are responsible for it – it’s locals.”
Mr Wright and his partner, Edyta Sikora, said attempts to address the issue have been to no avail.
“There was a meeting with local councillors back in March when they said they were going to sort it out,” he said.
“People are complaining about it but nothing ever seems to get done.
“The footpath is only around two-and-a-half-feet wide so it’s difficult to avoid stepping in it – there’s mess in the grass at the sides as well.
“A lot of dog owners don’t seem to bother with doggy bags – and there are a lot of dogs in Llanon because there are a lot of pensioners.
“The primary school kids had their sports day on the football field last week so we had around 35 children walking down to the area most affected by this.”
