Madam,
So Robin Ward of Llanbedr Community Council wants the bypass stopped (Council must stop wasting money on bypass).
Some days ago while walking on the pavement over the bridge I was caught a fairly hefty blow on the arm from the wing mirror of a van that was trying to pass another vehicle coming the other way on the bridge. This bridge is hundreds of years old and not suitable for modern-day traffic and even with a pavement is a danger to pedestrians.
Families, children and the elderly all have to walk along the main road and over the bridge to get to the shops, school, bus stop, etc, with no pavement and cars parked everywhere
The main road is not only a problem for pedestrians but the whole system becomes gridlocked in the summer. The extra traffic going to the forthcoming festival on the airfield will only make it worse.
So if Mr Ward has no consideration for people who have to use this outdated road system I hope that Gwynedd Council have and will get the bypass built as soon as possible.
Yours etc,
Keith Barber, Pen y Bont, Llanbedr.
