A DANCE and lounge bar in Pwllheli has scooped a top design award only three months after opening its doors to the public.
VENU Pwllheli was selected as one of the finalists in this year’s Northern Design Awards and won the award for the Best Commercial Interior Design Project.
The bar was chosen from hundreds of entries by a panel of judges including TV presenter and architect George Clark, Wayne Hemmingway and Linda Barker.
Earlier this year VENU Pwllheli was granted planning permission by Gwynedd Council planners to transform the former LS Carpets retail unit into an expansive venue for eating, drinking and dancing.
The bar, which only opened in August, is owned and ran by Victoria Morris of Porthmadog. Victoria has been working with designers Clair Brereton and Sarah Pinnington of Brereton Pinnington Design on the project which began back in summer 2014.
Clair said: “We are unbelievably delighted to win this award and it is down to working with brilliant clients who had faith and a vision of what they wanted from the start we were able to deliver this.”
