THE COMMUNITY shop in Tre’r-ddôl now has an eye-catching and dynamic splash of colour on its outside wall.

The Cletwr Mandala project was the brainchild of artist Anne Thomas who created the colourful mural with the help of members of the community.

She said: “The idea for this project began with my noticing a blank piece of wall on the side of our local community shop.

“I kept imagining a colourful painting there, drawing the eyes of passing motorists, kindling curiosity. It would be a dynamic image that somehow represented the energy of renewal happening around the building....a visual invitation to passers by.”

The community company Cwmni Cymunedol Cletwr celebrated St David’s Day by completing the purchase of the former petrol station where it has created a shop, café and facility for events and activities.
