A LLANIDLOES pharmacist has scooped a prize at the 2017 Welsh Pharmacy Awards.

Dylan Jones, of Dudley Taylor Pharmacy, was named as a joint winner of the Community Pharmacist of the Year award at the award ceremony in Glamorgan, sharing the award with Jacqui Campbell, of Pritchards Pharmacy in Prestatyn.

Dylan has been manager and community pharmacist at the Llanidloes pharmacy for 15 years, but also represents the 11 Welsh Dudley Taylor branches on the Welsh Regional Multiples Group.

He was highly praised by judges in the awards who said: “Dylan has been manager and community pharmacist at the pharmacy for 15 years, and commits time to understanding customers’ unique needs.

“This frame of thinking led to the development of a range of additional services - both preventative and supportive - to help customers improve and manage their own health.

“Understanding the importance of collaboration, the team has also built strong links and partnerships with other healthcare providers, including the local health board, the local GP surgery, district nurses, respiratory nurse and urgent care practitioners.”

The award winners will now appear in the Welsh Pharmacy Review, with the awards aimed at honouring people whose work in the sector has improved pharmaceutical care.
