LOCALS in Aberystwyth are making the most of the sun to enjoy the first day of the reopening of beer gardens and outdoor areas of pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants.

In glorious April sunshine, pubs and bars have served their first drink-on-the-premises pints since before the latest lockdown was imposed before Christmas.

The hospitality sector has been one of the worst hit by the pandemic.

Indoor reopening is expected on 17 May, Wales’ First Minister Mark Drakeford has said.
