A CAFÉ in Blaenau Ffestiniog has donated over £800 to North Wales’ refugee appeal.
Lakeside Café owners, Mari Rees and Kiki, held a Greek and middle-Eastern buffet in commemoration of the millions of people currently displaced by famine and war.
The evening raised £820 which was passed on to Caron Dukes who spent a week volunteering in Leros helping hundreds of distraught refugees.She said: “A fantastic night was had by all. “A big thank you to Mari Rees and Kiki Rees for organising the evening and donating the proceeds to aid for the refugees.”North Wales refugees support group are hosting a musical evening, featuring Gai toms, at Clwb Rygbi Bro Ffestiniog this Saturday.Doors open at 8pm and all proceeds will go towards the refugee appeal.Mari and Kiki are pictured handing the cheque to Caron (left).
