LOCALS from Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn and the surrounding area have produced a calendar to showcase their communities and to “raise a smile as we step into 2022”.
Cymdeithas Llanfihangel y Creuddyn a’r Cylch, a local committee, came up with the idea of creating a calendar for 2022 and invited members of the community to send in pictures of the area, the community, or places of natural beauty - whatever conveys the theme of Balchder Bro, or Our Neighbourhood.
A committee usually arrange a programme of events throughout the year, including a treasure hunt, sporting and fancy dress events, but these all “came to a halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic”.
Secretary Rhiain Williams said: “The response was great, several photos, in both colour and black and white, were presented for consideration, and Tegwen Morris, National Organiser of Merched y Wawr, and a keen photographer herself, chose the final photos.”
Tegwen said: “I was delighted to select the final photos which capture the beauty of Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn and surrounding area. This is great documentation of the area – captured by the people who know it best!”
The committee hopes that the images will raise a smile as we step into 2022.”
Copies of the calendar are available for £5, with all proceeds going to support the committee to “support their work in the community”, from Y Ffarmers, Llanfihangel y Creuddyn, and Halfway Inn, Pisgah, or by contacting Rhiain Williams on 07957 099 679.
