Madam,

Without wishing to intrude on private grief and without access to confidential information, it is my belief that at least five of the dozen or so people to recently leave Bodlondeb home have sadly passed away.

Vulnerable people across the county continue to suffer due to shortages in social care provision.

Now we get the news that the leader of Ceredigion County Council, Ellen ap Gwynn, has £200,000 of county council money available for the eisteddfod!

This, in Cllr ap Gwynn’s own words, will ‘promote the county and the council’, which says it all.

Promote the county. Let the world see the litter-strewn verges, the potholes in the road, the field that is Cylch Caron, the patch of rubble which is the Plas Morolwg extra care site and the shell which was Bodlondeb Residential Home.

Unbelievable.

Yours etc,

George Holloway, Rhoshendre, Waunfawr, Aberystwyth.
