I refer to Mr Quentin Deakin’s letter (Letters, 29 October), ‘Morgan’s death a loss to town’.

As a family, we are grateful for the sincere and heartfelt letter he wrote regarding the death of our late father Morgan Vaughan.

Yes indeed Morgan, up till very recently, took a very active interest in the 20th century history of Tywyn. As Mr Deakin mentioned, my father had many achievements and will be remembered most for his tireless work in developing Tywyn Hospital. I, on behalf of the family, would like to express our sincere thanks for all the sympathy extended to us during this sad time.

Morgan’s death is definitely a huge loss to Tywyn and beyond.
