TWO Dwyfor children turn rural crime detectives in a new TV series.

Annest Efa Roberts, from Criccieth, and Celt Meredydd Jones, from Llannor, appear alongside real-life police officer Dewi Evans from North Wales Police’s Rural Crime Team to help save the environment in new S4C show Dewi a’r Ditectifs Gwyllt.

PC Evans‘s day job is investigating rural crimes such as badger baiting, sheep attacks and protecting rare bird eggs.

For the series he chose a team of young ‘detectives’ to join him as he recreated cases similar to the ones that he has investigated as a police officer, giving the children the opportunity to learn about crime prevention in the countryside and the importance of protecting wildlife.

Eleven-year-old Celt, who has farming in his blood and keeps five of his own sheep on his parents’ farm, was well suited for the job.

In one episode the team are called out to a farm on the foothills of Snowdon where they have to investigate a case of sheep worrying, caused by a dog walker leaving his dog off its lead.

Dewi a’r Ditectifs Gwyllt is on S4C every Monday at 5pm.
