AN ABERYSTWYTH hairdresser has helped raise money for a cancer charity after her father was diagnosed with the disease.

Claire Lloyd, who owns Claire Lloyd’s Hair Studio on Market Street, held a cake sale and sponsored head shaving and body waxing last Thursday in aid of Cancer Research Wales.

The cake sale raised over £65. There was one taker for the sponsored head shave, Connor Yabsley.

“The day went really well and we were really busy,” Claire told the Cambrian News.

“A lot of people came in to support us and we took cakes around all the shops in Market Street and lots of people donated.

“My five-year-old nephew went around selling cakes to other shops in town, and a lot of clients came up to support us or donate.

"My dad has been diagnosed with cancer and one of the beauty girls’ uncles has also been diagnosed with cancer, so we wanted to do our bit.”
