The excellent letter written by Susan Pierce (Cambrian News, 13 July, ‘Saga of decisions made with little understanding of local needs’) makes a great deal of sense. To save the parish church of Our Lady and St Winifrede’s, Bishop Burns must stop hindering the survey that he and the Aberystwyth Council agreed to last March.

On the other hand, if he continues to insist on closing the church he needs to clarify, preferably in this newspaper, his reasons for doing so and what his current plans are. Sadly his communication with the parishioners of Aberystwyth is almost non-existent.
