THE latest community news from Barmouth
Friends of Hafod Mawddach
THE annual Cream Tea at Hafod Mawddach took place at the Residential Home on a beautiful sunny day last week and was very much enjoyed by residents and visitors.
The magnificent sum of £358.50 was raised and this will go towards entertainment for the residents, Christmas gifts and party.
Thanks go to Co-op Barmouth for donating the scones, to Angie Chamberlain for selling raffle tickets and to all the committee and friends for providing cakes and raffle prizes.
If anyone would like to be part of the committee please contact Carol Clay on 01341 281565.
Exhibition
KEITH Durrant’s exhibition of beautiful seascapes and landscapes with some air force-themed paintings too in St John’s Hall Gallery, is well worth a look and is on until 30 July.
Supporting Amelia
AMELIA has been at sea 11 months now and has visited several countries on Logos Hope, the mission ship of Operation Mobilisation.
She is the nursery teacher but has other duties on the ship and ashore.
The ship, a converted car ferry, is staffed by 440 volunteers and brings hope, help and support wherever it docks.
This year will be spent in the Caribbean and at present is visiting Jamaica.
On Thursday, 20 July a fund-raising event will be held at Fron y Graig on Barmouth’s High Street.
There will be various stalls including tombola, books, cakes and bric a brac.
Table Top Sale
ON Thursday morning, 27 July, the Barmouth Branch of the League of Friends of Dolgellau and Barmouth Hospital will be holding a table-top sale in the courtyard of Gwynfor’s house (opposite the Post Office, High Street).
There will be a large quantity of very good quality jewellery on sale, plus a bread maker (nearly new), other electrical items all PAT tested by Mr T, books, clothes and bric-a-brac.
Last year thanks to the kindness of contributors and sales on the day an amazing £500 was raised. This included a generous donation of £40 from Summer Strawberries. Please put the date in your diary and go along and support.
Philosophy
