Gallery
The exhibition of a variety of craft work by the artist and author Remy Dean which has been on show at the Maenofferen Gallery since early November comes to an end there this Saturday.
Land
The council will not move on and buy the land at Tan y Manod as the costs attached to the purchase were higher than expected when the tender was submitted.
This was as a result of CCG’s decision as the seller for the buyer to pay all the costs of the seller, which was around £1,200 plus VAT, and due to the potential costs to the taxpayer.
Also, residents near the site were against the idea of creating allotments on the site as more cars would be using this narrow road with lack of car parking spaces.
However, residents welcomed the idea of establishing an orchard and offered volunteering with the planning.
Japanese Knotweed was reported to be on site but was treated and as for the costs of maintenance of the site there would be a need to install a new fence in the future and there ere potential costs associated with the repair of drains.
Advice
A representative of the Citizens Advice Bureau will be at the library on Mondays between 10am and 1pm ready to deal with any relevant questions one might have and no appointments are necessary to be present.
Sites
Following a notice of motion by Cllr Ronwen D Roberts which asked the council to actively seek and identify sites in the area owned or administered by the council as suitable for planting trees to align with current Welsh Government policy to thereby provide real long term social and community benefits, the town council is to seek to identify suitable sites.
Planning
The council has no objection to the following planning applications:
1. Construction of garage in place of existing outbuilding at Talarfor, Ffestiniog;
2 and 3. Proposed replacement of plant with new external refrigeration plant to rear of Co-op as well as painting of building and the various new signage to include illuminated fascia and totem signs;
4. Demolition of detached garage at 3 Maes y Coed, Ffestiniog and erection of two-storey side extension and garage.
