Bell ringers

The local band of ringers continues to thrive and with the latest batch of beginners now capable of handling the bells well, the full ring of 10 bells greeted the 10am Welsh Service congregation last Sunday morning.

When the ringers had left the church, tower captain Bob McIntyre, told the group about an entry in the church visitors book written by a lady who recently had gone past the church on practice night and, having heard the bells, went and sat quietly in church to listen and think of a bereavement.

Last Saturday afternoon, four ringers including two of the beginners, drove down to the St David’s Guild of Change Bell Ringers’ monthly guild practice at Llansteffan, where the enthusiasm and keenness of the beginners, made a very favourable impression on the guild officers.

Visitors are welcome to come up into the tower to the Thursday evening ringing practices from 7.30pm to 9pm, and in the near future, training of more beginners will get under way.
