Community Council

MEMBERS of the Harlech and District Motor Rally attended to provide information about their proposal to holding a local daytime rally stage next year.

The stage would involve closing the back road from Dyffryn Ardudwy past Byrdir, up Allt Fawr and then down Cwm Nantcol to Pont Beser in Gwynfryn, then up past Werngron towards Llanfair, before finishing the stage at Tyddyn Rhyddid.

The road would still be accessible to emergency services. The event will hopefully take place on a Saturday in June 2020.

The council were keen to support the idea in principle, but asked whether a Sunday would be a better option since Saturdays are relatively busy in the area with holiday let change over, and tourists arriving at the campsites.

The council supported two planning applications at Maes Artro; the siting of three pods with decking, paths, access track and car park; and erection of a storage building.

The council did not comment on a proposed application for a new dwelling at Ystad y Wenallt.

The council also supported the proposed change of use to the building at Ty’n Celyn on the main road from Class A1 retail to Class A1 retail, class A2 (Office and estate agent), and class D1 (counselling and hypnotherapy).

The councillors were pleased to see the building being put back into commercial use.

There is no further information regarding the proposed new access road to Llanbedr airfield and no further information regarding the planning application regarding proposed changes to Capel Moriah and the associated buildings.

Work has been carried out on the play equipment in the playing field and minor issues have arisen regarding rubbish in the area. The gate has been replaced at the far end of the playing field near to Tyddyn Pandy, and the council would like to thank Meirion Jones for carrying out the work.

The financial annual returns and documentations have been audited by the Internal Audit of Gwynedd Council.

A further report will be sent to the BDO – the council’s external auditor before the end of June, and a copy put on the web page in due course.
