Charity appeal

THERE is an urgent charity appeal for knitting wool.

Any colour or ply to knit items for Cancer Research, Salvation Army, Homeless, Shoebox appeal and Macmillan Cancer Support.

All wool can be left with Natasha at Milwyn, Jenkins and Jenkins, Great Oak Street.

Open day

THERE is an open day for the heritage model railway theme park on Saturday, 17 August, at Chatwood, Longbridge Street between 10.30am and 2.30pm.

Admission by donation.

All children must be accompanied by an adult. Proceeds to Llanidloes Dial a Ride.

Bingo

THERE is bingo at the rugby club on Wednesday, 7 August, starting 7.30pm (eyes down 8pm).

Entry is 50p, which includes tea/ coffee and biscuit in aid of Llanidloes Dial a Ride.

Daffodils appeal

LINDY Jones, on behalf of Marie Curie Cancer Care, would like to thank everyone for their continued support, who bought, sold and displayed daffodils in March and raised a total of £964.

The Millennium Garden

THE Millennium Garden has been nominated for UK’s best park, 2019.

Vote for it online by visiting www. fieldsintrust.org/best-park/wales and searching for The Millennium Garden, Llanidloes before voting closes at noon on Monday, 14 August.

Legion

THE Legion volunteers have been persuaded to keep the display open until 31 August, on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, due to more photos being provided.

They are amazed and overwhelmed at the response .

A massive collection of very old postcards of all over the area are on display #HowDoYouRememberLlani?

This is a display of photographs and memorabilia of Llanidloes and surrounding villages, go and see how the town and villages lived in the past.

Spot the people you know and see how it has changed over the years.

Look for the display at 9 Great Oak Street.

Don’t forget to write in the memory book while your visiting or bring along your own old family photos (copies only please) to add to the display #ThousandsOfPhotos

Christmas lights

LLANIDLOES mayor Janet Crisp invites everyone to attend a meeting to discuss the future of the Christmas lights in Llanidloes.

The initial meeting will take place at the Council Chamber, Town Hall on Monday, 19 August, at 6.30pm.
