DURING the last few weeks, members of have enjoyed a variety of activities.

Sue Rees brought along items she had made using driftwood and items she picks up in charity shops.

The competition of an item showing driftwood was won by Janet Webb, 2nd Betty Wakelin and 3rd Lilwen Bevan.

The following week the members visited Aberystwyth Fire Station followed the following week by an informal meeting.

On 18 May several members and friends went on a day trip to Big Pit in Blaenavon.

On 22 May the resolutions for this year’s WI National AGM in Bournemouth were discussed and voted on.

They are on ‘Cervical Screening’ and ‘The Decline in rural Bus Services’.

Ten members braved the stormy weather on 29 May and walked from the harbour to the pier in Aberystwyth.

They had fish and chips on the pier before their return walk back to the harbour.

On 5 June, members enjoyed a social evening playing whist.

The winners were Judy Lile and Carol Evans with the booby prize going to Maureen Edwards and Jean Evans.

The raffle was won by Barbara Auty. Betty Wakelin was in charge of the sales table.

They are now looking forward to visiting Althea’s Garden on 19 June when Hazel Rimmer will give a report from the NFWI AGM in Bournemouth, which she recently attended, and on 3 July they are visiting Gregynog.
