December started with an open evening as Hazel Rimmer welcomed everybody especially members of AberOpera who had come to offer entertainment.

Joanne Julier introduced and gave a short explanation of the songs that were sung, while their musical director Alistair Auld was the accompanist.

It was a very entertaining evening enjoyed by all those present, and the vote of thanks was given by Margaret Rees. The raffle was won by Janet Webb, Carol Evans and Ann George.

The following Saturday, a coffee morning was held in the Old School Community Centre. There were stalls, raffle and competitions and Dr Alan Axford, chair of HAVAV, was present to receive a cheque for £200. This money was raised by members selling dates on a calendar. Natalie Jones won the competition when Dr Axford drew the date she had chosen on the calendar.

This year, members travelled to Lampeter for their annual Christmas dinner on 13 December. Gareth Richards of Cegin Gareth and Prynhawn Da chef on S4C, had prepared an excellent meal which was very much enjoyed by all.

The last meeting of 2017 was a social evening with a quiz and a game prepared by Hazel and pass the parcel with forfeits prepared by Barbara Awty. Members had brought food and gifts.

New members always welcome.
