THE Llannor/Efailnewydd WI met on 8 January at the Sports Club.

The new president, Diana McCormack, welcomed 12 members.

After the business section of the meeting she welcomed speaker Tina Martin who used to be a senior drugs and alcohol worker.

She was based in Kent and used to be a practice manager in a GP practice, she then got a diploma in Substance Misuse Management.

Her main role was helping people come off drugs mostly heroin.

Her talk was extremely interesting and informative.

Jean Coker gave the vote of thanks.

Raffles were won by Megan, Pam and Jackie.

Competition winners were Edith, Diana and Dilys.

Tea hostesses were Pam and Jackie.

The next meeting will be on 12 February at 2pm a talk by the farmer and his wife, David and Margaret from the shop on Pwllheli High Street.
