THE group met on 11 September at the sports club where Jean welcomed 14 members, one new member and a guest. After the business section of the meeting, she welcomed the speaker, Kit Ellis from Llwyndyrus farm. Kit’s talk, entitled My Life Story, was an entertaining resume of her life, from growing up on a farm in mid Wales to living and working at Llwyndyrus, where she works on the farm and runs nine holiday units together with a spa. She also started Cryms, a business making and selling shortbread biscuits. After four years she recently sold the business. She donated three packets of biscuits to the raffle. Jackie Rees gave the vote of thanks. The tea hostesses were Margaret Cook and Pat Calderbank. The annual trip to Llandrillo College will be on Friday, 8 December. The raffle winners were Doris, Jean, Margaret, Glenda, Pat and Pam. The competition winners were: joint first, Pam Strode and Jean Kirk-ness; second, Dilys Gerrard.
