AT the first meeting of the year, they welcomed Mick Alexander from the Glaslyn Project.

He gave some fascinating facts about the Ospreys: there have been 33 birds fledged over the years and the most amazing fact is the number of miles they fly to Africa, south of the Sahara Desert, during the winter.

Glaslyn Project is now a charity and is always looking for volunteer help to publicise – tell your friends to become a member or to volunteer either at the Visitor Centre or be part of the nest protection squad.

Next month, Tuesday, 6 February at 7pm, they welcome Tad Deiniol from the Wales Orthodox Mission in Blaenau Ffestiniog.

New members always welcome.
