THE September meeting of the Waunfawr WI took place on Monday, 4 September in the Community Hall on the Waun when members were once more able to meet together and exchange all the news after the summer break.

President, Jean Eklund, welcomed members and guests and introduced speaker Beti Wyn Davies, a lady well known in Ceredigion County WI as an excellent craftmaker and skilled floral arranger, competing at both at county level and at the Royal Welsh.

Before tea and biscuits a short business session brought to members’ attention a number of county events from a very full monthly programme, including the Food Forum at St Paul’s Methodist Centre on 7 November; and the Annual Council Meeting at Morlan on 11 November.

The next meeting will be on Monday, 2 October at 7pm in the Waun Hall, when the speaker will be Linda Hood on jewellery and members will have the opportunity to make an item of jewellery with a small charge being levied for materials.
