THE PUBLIC has been asked to help catch fly-tippers dumping rubbish in the Llanbedrog area.
Gwynedd Council’s Street Enforcement Team are clamping down on offenders following a recent increase in the amount of illegal tipping of bulky items, electrical white goods and builder’s waste seen in parts of the county.
Enforcement Officers are using a number of methods to track down offenders, including CCTV cameras, new technology and
local intelligence.
Llanbedrog councillor Angela Russell said she fully supports the extra efforts being taken to clamp down on fly-tipping.
She said: “There is no excuse for fly-tipping at all, the recent discovery of commercial white goods found along the road between Llanbedrog and Rhydyclafdy is completely unacceptable.
“There is no excuse for people who want to get rid of these types of goods not to take them to a skip.
“We have recently discussed the issue of fly-tipping in the county in a recent scrutiny committee and we’d really like to appeal to the public for their help in tackling this issue.
“If we catch one or two people and fine them it may stop others following suit.
