A Llangoedmor man who drove at almost twice the speed limit through Newcastle Emlyn has been fined by magistrates.

Rhys Daniel Davies, of Tan yr Onen, appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on 3 January.

The court heard that the 22-year-old was clocked by police laser driving a Cupra Formentor V2 at 52mph on the 30mph limit Station Road in Newcastle Emlyn on 1 May.

Magistrates fined Davies £276 and handed him six penalty points.

He must also pay £110 costs and a £110 surcharge.
