A MISSING 61-year-old man is wanted by police following a series of thefts.

North Wales Police are now treating missing man Alexander Carne Hewitt as ‘wanted’ in connection with a number of thefts in south Gwynedd.

A police appeal for information on his whereabouts was viewed and shared by hundreds of people over the weekend but now the force are hoping to bring him in for questioning.

Anyone who knows of his whereabouts have been asked to report it to the police.

He has been known to visit B&Bs and guest houses and has links with Penrhyndeudraeth and Porthmadog.

“He hasn’t been seen since 27 Saturday and his current whereabouts are unknown,” said a police spokesperson.
