A Pwllheli man caught driving while more than three times the legal alcohol limit has been banned from the road for more than two years.

Giedrius Benidorius, of 1 Cae Solomon, appeared before Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court on 30 July.

The court heard the 48-year-old was stopped while driving on the A4212 at Bala on 11 July this year.

Roadside and police station breath tests showed that Benidorius had 108 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Benidorius also admitted a charge of failing to surrender to bail.

Magistrates disqualified Benidorius from driving for 25 months and handed him a fine of £738.

He must also pay costs of £85 and a £295 surcharge.
